Re: Frozen shoulder
I had a frozen shoulder as a result of a fall on the Grande Motte [ it looked spectacular according to my "friends" ]. It was not diagnosed immediately but when two weeks later everything else was back to normal but I could not find a comfortable position to sleep in and could not thread a belt into my trousers I went to see the company physio.

I had lost the last fifteen degrees opening of my right shoulder joint. The physio tried manipulation, which was uncomfortable, and gave me a set of daily shoulder exercises to do. Gradually the discomfort lessened though it was about three months before I could sleep comfortably and a couple more before I could hit an overhead squash shot.

It's been OK for years but I still check that my overhead reach height is the same with either hand.

Re: Frozen shoulder
I've had both a frozen left and right shoulder (not at the same time)
I had cortisone injections on both occasions but neither improved the condition. However being put to sleep for 15/30 minutes each time and having them "manipulated" did the trick both times.

After coming round the first time, they asked if I could move the arm and I swung it around without any problem or pain whatsoever. I asked them what they did and the nurse answered "You don't wanna know".

Apparently they lay you on your front, sit on your back and move your arm up down around and any which way they can. Sounds painful but worked immediately both times for me and neither were sore in the slightest afterwards.

Re: Frozen shoulder
Had this problem last year. Got so bad, needed a procedure under anasthetic to basically rip it apart, since moment became so restrictive.

Fine since and pain free, but golf swing has shortened due to less mobility. Physio and strechting important to keep it from re-occuring.

Re: Frozen shoulder
had that problem last year because of a tempur-pedic bed. I bought a body pillow to sleep with and haven't had problems since

Re: Frozen shoulder
Had this for a long time. Was a right fucker.

Try using a stress ball. Squeeze it as hard you can for 30 seconds and slowly release. Repeat a few times. This should provide a nice warm relaxing feeling all down the arm and should ease some tension.

Or just have a wank...
